Freedom Boat Club

Yesterday we had the pleasure of joining the Freedom Boat Club Chicago for a segment on WGN's morning news show.  Michael Johnston, the club's manager, invited us to come down to the dock and put together some examples from our summer boat club menu for the segment.  It was a great opportunity to showcase this summer's offerings for the members of the club and WGN's audience.  Host Ana Belaval was a lot of fun to meet and she really loved our lobster roll and sweat pea salad!

The Freedom Boat Club is our partner for the summer and we are very excited to be working with them!  They offer the opportunity to enjoy owning a boat on Lake Michigan without all the hassle.  Members of the club have the benefits of using seven different types of boats, without having to insure them, handle maintenance, or deal with storing a boat all winter.  Packages start at $2500 and as low as $100 a month.  The boat club also has an incredible party dock available for its members to use after boating or even to have friends down for a dock party!  Not only do you have access to boats on Lake Michigan, but also almost 100 clubs around the country included in your membership.

We have put together a summer menu and online ordering platform for the club this summer.  From sandwiches to cheese and charcuterie platters we have something perfect for every occasion whether it be a fun day with the family or an evening cruise for the fireworks.  We pride ourselves on customization and are happy to accommodate special requests.   Our summer boat club menu comes packed in a marine line igloo cooler to assure your food stays fresh all day.

Not a member of the club?  Have a boat of your own?  We are happy to extend our summer menu to private boat owners, people heading out to one of Chicago's many beaches, or even set up a few coolers for your trip to Ravinia this summer!  Our online ordering system makes it easy, we just ask fro 48 hours notice.

Wine and Cheese Night

I am excited to announce that Wine and Cheese Night is back after a brief hiatus.  With the warm weather finally coming around, we are once again opening our doors to guests the third Thursday of the month all summer long!  Doors open at 7:00.  Join us for a flight of three wines and three cheeses for $35.  It's the perfect event for those who want to learn a little bit about food and wine pairing, or just enjoy a fun night with friends.  Additional drinks and wine are available for purchase as well as charcuterie plates.  

This month we have a special guest Simona Krug from The Guesthouse Hotel and the wines of Molly Dooker.

Fund the Fight Ball

This past weekend we had the pleasure of catering the Fund the Fight Ball with University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation at Moonlight Studios.  We were so pleased to be involved with the event this year as the Associate Board took a chance with Brix Catering & Events.  We are the new guy, the little guy, and opportunities like this are not easy to come by.  We have done full scale event coordination and large scale food production in the past, but never for a black tie affair.  With the help of Tablescapes Event Rentals we were able to set up three very unique food stations and two full scale bars.  We used Novovino Wine Company as our distributor for the event, with the help of my friend and Associate Board Member Hilary Sargent.  I am happy to report that the event was a huge success for us as a small business and for the cancer research foundation!  Fun was had by all, and most importantly funds were raised for a great cause.  We look forward to working with the Associate Board at the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation on their next event!
